We set out to create a tool to optimize tech job postings to help employers save time and hire
better.
There is more to the story, however.
We believe in unlocking the potential of opportunity. Providing more on-ramps into technology careers not only meets a short-term need in a tight labor market, it helps build a stronger more diverse and more sustainable workforce over the long term.
Despite signs of improvement, overspec’ing in tech job postings remains an issue. From slight deterrents to near-unassailable barriers in the extreme cases of pursuing “unicorn” candidates, overspec’ing puts an artificially low ceiling on opportunity.
We hope efforts such as this to help employers make smart data-driven decisions in determining job skills and qualifications is another step toward improving hiring efficiency and unlocking potential.
The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) is the tech-forward community of the $5 trillion global technology ecosystem and the hub for the 75 million global professionals who design, deploy, manage and secure the technology that powers the modern economy.Through training and education, certifications, collaboration and data-driven research, CompTIA advances the industries and careers that drive tech forward.
